This post is short and unpolished…
Anything within your comfort is certainty / known and is what you can get access to.
You have the potential to accomplish or do anything but what you actually do is limited to what you can get access to, present tense that limit is dictated by your outer limits of the comfort zone.
Anything beyond and outside your comfort zone is uncomfortable and thus uncertain and thus the unknown.
All the Growth in your Life – that hasn’t happened yet in the present tense – but will in the future tense – lies completely in this place.
So how do you get from inside that place to outside that place!?
Either you wait and hope, relying on the natural variables of each day, week and month in your life that create micro changes that lead to minuscule or minor change over say a year as an example. Or something significant happens that wakes you up and shakes you a little creating a kind of kick start change that creates alterations to your life almost overnight due to the severity of the stimulus.
Either way you are responding out of control, haphazardly and in reaction. It is also rather boring and lack lusting of the juice of life to just wait.
People have a hard time waiting for a bus or standing in a que inline at a shop for example right! Waiting will lead to irritation and a sense of ‘something is missing’ in your life.
This is where in part, a lot of people dupe themselves further by resorting to a ‘menu’ of attempts to ‘create’ stimulation by smoking, drinking, betting, browsing for hours on the net, updating their social media pages constantly, overeating or any of the 100’s of crazy behaviours we all do as a society in an attempt to get ourselves to feel different / better.
Any of this sound familiar!?!
The other way is to do this consciously. Making the conscious decision to stretch yourself so that Life doesn’t have to step in and nudge you each time.
Remember either way your going to stretch, that is assured because that is how Life is rigged.
You stretch yourself or life will find a way to stretch you.
Free yourself from the idea that you want to stay exactly where you are in your Life right now because anything else is too uncomfortable, this delusion has, is and will, cost you. Better embrace something that happens anyway with or without your permission right!
The difference is that you get to drive the car or be a passenger.
Most people – 99% in fact choose to be a passenger and yet are exactly the same 99% of individuals that complain, whine, winge and bitch when they arrive somewhere they don’t like. Ironic isn’t it.
People who don’t stretch in the gym – end up tight / unbalanced etc…contraction without stretch creates unbalance.
Stretching is not a negative focus like I HAVE to stretch or I MUST stretch from a make yourself viewpoint. No. it can be and is a Positive. Stretching yourself because you WANT to and call it a must ONLY because you give it a higher emotional consequence value, not because your doing it against your will.
