In part 1 we discussed WHY it is a necessity to do this.
Part 2 started looking at the HOW to do this through changing Beliefs.
Part 3 today, will continue by looking at another way to change your conditioning.
What is Conditioning?
There are many ways it could be defined, I think one way to describe it is :
‘The AUTOMATIC imprinting within your nervous system ( brain / nerve tissue ) and thus – the way you respond to stimulus around you’
NOT the conscious thoughts of desire wishes or effort, but the AUTOMATIC way you ‘act’ usually without being aware moment to moment – extending to day to day and week to week etc… IF the conditioning within you is NOT supportive of getting and having more as well as keeping the ‘more’ then you will very very very likely NOT get more. You very much mostly only respond from the pre – set, programming that exists PRESENT tense in your nervous system, so in a FUTURE tense setting, you are only going to get a replica – of the present.
For the future to change – the PRESENT needs to change.
Today then let’s look at another way to change the conditioning. One simple and even fun way! is to use your imagination. To briefly explain what your imagination is and does – it is the ability to experience new sensations that are NOT perceived through your physical senses, in other words – stuff you can ‘make up’ even though it does not really exist. Your mind and thus your imagination can defy the law of physics in unique ways – it can travel back in time or it can travel to the future and it can experience a reality that does not really exist!
Here is the other factor that is very important to understand – your UNCONSCIOUS mind – the thing that HAS all the automatic conditioned responses – in it – does NOT question or reason. In other words if does not question or reason if something is right or wrong so to speak, it does not care about logic. IT makes it’s decisions based on repetition, uniqueness, intensiveness, emotional pain and pleasure AND – your unconscious takes the IMAGINED material to be REAL. To your conscious mind you ‘know’ what your are imagining is made up BUT to your unconscious mind it does NOT! your unconscious mind perceives what you imagine as REAL, and thus acts from it. It does not differentiate the difference.
Now if you put the previous all together you should be able to see that what you imagine directly and strongly effects – influences – the unconscious mind which – is the seat of virtually all your conditioned responses in respect of behavior / how you act.
If you doubt what I have written here then do you own research on the matter of unconscious and imagination, this again is a blog so this is simplified for ease of understanding.
Changing Associations – Through Imagination
One way to CHANGE the associations in your brain is to use your imagination. In this case associations to money. Right now you may feel that having more money would make you a less spiritual person! or you having more money while there are other people living in poverty makes you evil or it’s unfair! maybe you just believe that you don’t have the intelligence or time to make more money.
What ever you have linked up – can be dismantled and demolished using your imagination.
Again there are various ways to do this, mine that I will explain in a moment is just 1 example of many, like all of my material, I advise you to do your own investigation and study once you think what I have written is useful to you.
You can do this through pictures, sounds or feelings.
I will describe the visual method as the majority of the populous are visual dominant. Just know you can do the same through sounds and feelings too if you wish.
You can do this with your eyes open or closed, closed is more effective. You can do this anytime literally, such as morning afternoon or evening or night. You can do this for 1 minute or 1 hour or longer. You can repeat it as often as you wish. What I am about to describe is what you already do! and what you did a hell of a lot of when you were a wee child. Children or notorious examples of day dreaming – just another term for imagining something and being captivated by the day dream so much so it disrupts the REAL / external present moment – remember having them? do you still have them? everyone does. A lot of learning came from the use of our imagination when we were kids – and still does as adults. So why not use what you already know and already do to break the conditioning residing within you that prevents you from attaining and then maintaining more money in your Life!
Simply picture in your minds eye a future – that you would like to have that is indicative of a life with more money in, maybe excess money …
What clothes would you be wearing? What car would you be driving? What jewellery would you have on? What would the house you live in look like? What would you be doing – playing tennis? sailing a yacht? horse riding? If you had excess money what would you do with it? Would you help the people living in squalor and poverty? Would you be flying first class? Maybe you would just be relaxing on an island beach gazing at the sunset feeling really appreciative and fortunate in life.
What ever it is that your imaginary idyllic future is – remember it is imaginary to you – but real to the unconscious that is also watching!
Imagine a future that is ‘just how you have always imagined’ it as they say. See every detail of everything. If you don’t want to have oodles and oodles of excess money and you just want a bit extra in your life, then just imagine you are slightly better off with the car you have been wanting for example or, the house you drove past last week that caught your attention or, seeing your kid get to college or university.
You could imagine a full day compressed in to 30 minutes of real time! – in your imagination do this … experience each event from waking up and breakfast all the way through to going back to bed – experience your ideal day where money was NOT a limitation. Again, where would you go? who would you meet? what would you do?
what would you buy? what luxuries would you experience? a massage maybe or a ride on the orient express?
However you use this technique, is up to you. There are no limits on time, you could do this ad hoc when you feel like it, or you could chose a time EVERY DAY and commit to doing it for a minimum 10 minutes. You could repeat this 3 times a day for 30 minutes each time if you liked – do what works for you. It helps to make the conditioning deeper and more effective which equals quicker effects – if – you add feelings and sounds to the imagination you create, feel in your body – real time – real feelings – what it would feel like if you were riding the horse or waking up in a mansion – hear the sounds associated with the horse and mansion you live in.
Remember what I said earlier – your unconscious makes it’s decisions based on repetition, uniqueness, intensiveness, emotional pain and pleasure.
So performing this process with emotion in your real physical body, the stronger the intensity of emotion the better, involving sounds in your imagination, making the imagery clear and detailed and repeating the process again and again and again daily, weekly etc… will simply yet elegantly help to re-condition the present conditioning into a new empowering conditioning that basically says to the unconscious ‘this is highly pleasurable and IS my reality.’
The effect of an imaginary brighter financial future, is that your unconscious will be subject to viewing it too! This is the beginning of a new direction. All new directions logically start at a beginning right, so 1 year from now you may want to be in a position where you have doubled your income, well maybe it all started because one day you decided to condition yourself for it and you used your imagination to start the ball rolling!
I want to be clear. I am not saying JUST by making a bunch of stuff up in your mind regularly is going to make you rich just because. Nor is your unconscious just going to believe a bunch of imaginary stuff and suddenly you become a different person acting different. No.
What I AM saying is that you and your life are mostly the sum results of your thoughts – feelings – actions and thus effects created. To have a different and NEW future somewhere somehow in some way you ARE going to have to change that input and ‘that’ change would be new thoughts, feelings and actions. The process described here about using your imagination, and in the previous blog, about using questions to change your Beliefs – are both ways to facilitate that new input. In the next blog I will provide additional ways to change the conditioning.
In my Financial Coaching with people, I use these very same techniques and others.
Once you have started the process of changing the conditioned responses you have, it will lead at some point to and effect externally where you find yourself seeing things you never saw before and doing / acting in slightly different ways than you did before.
There will then come the point where you will need to look at a strategy of literally making the extra money show up in the physical world, saving strategies, investments, stocks and shares, a new business venture etc.. are examples of what you would DO to bring the extra money in to fruition. All this happened though because in the FIRST instance – you removed the limiting conditioning that was holding you back from breaking free.
In my Financial Coaching with people, I also provide this step of providing a vehicle to make more money in their real life. I have various business models in place that they can use. However they also go through the same process FIRST, as I also did when I was not financially wealthy, that I am asking you to go through – they need to change their present conditioning / programming otherwise no vehicle for greater financial gain is going to be of much use.
