Having had financial lack for many years in my own life, I can still relate strongly to people’s situations. I amassed my first million in property many years ago and can remember how difficult it was just to get to that point. I wish – I had someone mentoring me and coaching me on the do’s and don’ts of the financial world, but I didn’t. One of my core values back then was that I would coach others ‘one day’ on how to get to Financial Wealth QUICKER and EASIER than I did.
I have kept that vowel and have coached lots of people over the years in the financial area of life, my financial coaching is aimed specifically at helping individuals achieve a minimum six figure income per year ( £100,000 ) even from scratch. I tell you all of this so to give some credence and validation to the advice in this blog that follows.
There are a lot of people out there in the world, even in the life coaching profession who profess to having answers to problems yet are not able to manifest and demonstrate in their own life, the advice, they ask others to pay for. I went for a different strategy early on in that, I myself would have to become an example of the advice I dish out.
This is how I have built my reputation in the industry over the years and am now sharing with you here in this blog / and the previous / and the upcoming blogs.
HOW to Condition Yourself for More Money
Let’s get started, please do the following :
Think of money in your mind right now, for at least 60 seconds or longer and, notice what you see / hear / feel / think.
When I say do this I mean literally please. Stop – and do it. 1 – 2 minutes no less.
Okay what are your immediate / automatic responses? If you really want to do this properly, then write down right now, what answers / responses you elicited.
If your like most people, the responses are either purely negative or at best, mostly negative.
What does this mean?
Here’s an example …
When I said think of money in your mind right now, and, notice what you see / hear / feel / think, you may have heard a belief you adhere to such as ‘I don’t have enough money’, or something like ‘I am not clever enough’. Maybe you saw an image in your mind instead like seeing a bill in your hands or maybe you remember hearing growing up that money does not grow on trees so you saw a picture of a tree with money leaves! Some people will respond to their feelings the most so for them their automatic response was to just feel ‘heavy’ or ‘weighted down’.
What Does All This Mean?
While the content of the above examples are subjective, that is, they are examples and ultimately everyone is different so have different pictures, sounds, feelings etc…
The objective thing to note is are they POSITIVE or NEGATIVE in origin?
As I said most people’s responses will be either purely negative or at best, mostly negative. Yes there are some associations / responses that will be positive but the point is which one is dominant, POSITIVE or NEGATIVE?
IF most of the things in your nervous system are limiting / negative / dis-empowering / restrictive etc… then your behavior will manifest itself as a mirror of those associations.
Do you get it?
Trying to make more money in your life, while your own computer that controls you says having more money is going to be more pain than pleasure – is the equivalent to trying to lift 5 tonnes of weight with your bare hands, ain’t gona happen as they say.
Please bear in mind I am oversimplifying everything here as this is a blog but I hope you have got the point by now.
So HOW do you change this if this is how your unconscious is currently ‘set’?
One Way is to Change the BELIEFS You Have
I use to think – believe – that the beliefs I had was ‘me’ or that they were some concrete carving that was permanent. Not so I assure you. The beliefs you live by can change, in fact do change in relation to new experiences / references in your day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year life. One effective way to change them rapidly though is to QUESTION them. That is to create doubt within your nervous system / mind.
One significant reason WHY beliefs stick around is that they are NOT questioned – ever!
Let’s use an example, let’s say you notice you have a belief that says something like I’m not smart enough to be rich. HOW do we get rid of this conditioning that contributes to holding us back?
You doubt it – using questions.
You say to yourself in your head or out loud – WHY do I think this when I know I can do 1,000’s of things in my life / have done 1,000’s of things in my life?
HOW do I know I’m not smart enough, I mean HOW do I know, that for sure?!
WHY do I live by this notion when I actually disagree with it?!
Maybe it could have been true but going forwards I can learn anything I want so I can gain the wisdom I need.
Where did I link this up in my head? from whom? when? I wasn’t aware I accepted this!!!!
This Is Not Positive Thinking
Whatever you ask, the essence of the asking is to create doubt that will simply yet effectively – serve to weaken the beliefs power over you, this is NOT POSITIVE THINKING, this is more than just thinking positive, in other words, you could try to think positive about the negative belief and end up saying to yourself I am smart enough, I am smart enough, I am smart enough over and over to yourself BUT you very likely would still feel the same and the existing belief remains un-knocked!
Asking questions is a totally different texture to just being positive, about a negative thing. Questions serve beyond just content and allow the possibility of ‘newness’, just thinking positive about an inherently negative thing, can not / does not do this.
It helps SIGNIFICANTLY when you ask these questions if you ask them with emotion as opposed to just intellectually in your head, remember it is your associations in your nervous system around your entire being, not just your head, that influences you the most. You may know / intellectually smoking is bad for you – yet you will still reach for the cigarette! because you are responding emotionally to a situation / out of auto response – instead out of logic / intellect.
QUESTIONING beliefs is one of many ways on HOW to condition yourself for more money. Next week I will go further in to more exotic forms of changing the conditioning.
Most things in life are inherently very simple, the advice here to start the process by doubting the beliefs holding you back is also very simple – it is for this reason that statistics tell us that 75% of the people or more reading this blog will NOT action what I have written here – WHY?! because they deduce if it was that simple everyone would be doing it – well if you follow logic – even when you DO present it to people such this blog – people – through their own limiting beliefs – will still NOT do it.
What often holds us back in life – is our own limitations – we create – and we accept – and do not question.
