One of many ‘many’ reasons that individuals hold on to excess body Fat on their body is that they mistakenly AVOID the intake of Fats day to day. Low Fat or worse NO Fat diets are terrible from a Health point of view and a Weight Loss point of view also.
The Human body WILL give up stored body Fats ‘IF’ Good Fats come in. Better still – your body WILL give up stored Fat QUICKER – if ESSENTIAL Fats come in.
FAT IS a NUTRIENT, as well as a calorie provider. People forget that and JUST see the calories it has. Even then the calorie is seen as a negative when in TRUTH the calorie is neither – it is only ‘how it is used’ that counts.
Weight loss diets are a double-edged sword! The loss of weight that comes with a permanent weight loss diet is different to a traditional diet.
Thus by eating low Fat or no Fat you sadly – avoid the intake of the ESSENTIAL Fats, which, I will tell you in No Uncertain Terms – IS A BIG ‘BIG’ MISTAKE.
Did you know that the Inuit ( formally known as Eskimos ) ate / eat a very high Fat intake of around 50% or more YET, have some of the lowest recorded levels for cardiovascular disease, cholesterol levels, atherosclerosis etc… ON EARTH!!!
This is back to front based on typical western knowledge / expectation.
Without getting into the politics of all that, the interesting and useful bit of information is that whilst they had a high Fat intake – they BENEFITED.
Their Fat intake is HIGH in both GOOD Fats and the ESSENTIAL Fats.
So if you are concerned about eating a higher Fat intake, before you ‘decide’ it is bad for you, you may want to take a look at REAL REALITY first. I only want to prompt you here to do your own research. I could have provided an extensive list here but you may not believe everything I would have written blindly, and I accept that so please do your own research OR just trust what I am sharing and revealing with you.
If you’re happy to accept what I say, then okay moving on, know that the RIGHT TYPE OF FATS create the right type of EFFECT.
Our goal is to LOSE WEIGHT and then MANAGE THAT WEIGHT LOSS. So the question then is ‘Are there any particular Fats that will contribute to that outcome of ensuring your weight loss is permanent?’
The answer is a resounding YES.
Predominantly the ESSENTIAL Fats will Speed Up the process of Fat loss / Fat burning if they are supplied in the dietary intake of the individual over and above base.
HOW and WHY?
If you want the technical and chemical explanation in detail, I advise you to go to Google.
I want to keep your attention – not send you to sleep! So my explanation is as usual the layman’s understanding / oversimplified and plain. I mention this to warn you NOT to confuse that with ‘not important or not correct.’
Through the evolutionary process over of millions of years MAN and WOMAN have LOST the ability to make certain Fats inside their body, and thus ( not to die! ) We MUST obtain these particular Fats through our dietary intake.
Hence the name ‘ESSENTIAL’ Fats.
So as I began to say, by eating low Fat or worse NO Fat, you will be also missing out on the ESSENTIAL Fats ( not good ).
From a Health point of view there is a long list of repercussions and negative effects. From our point of interest – Weight Loss and Fat burn and eventual Weight Management – the MAJOR setback is a slower metabolism of Fat cells as a result of these ESSENTIAL Fats being very low in the diet or even non-existent / missing.
Imagine it in this way –
The body really does want to get rid of excess Fat stored but CAN’T because it would be giving up a RESOURCE it already has, and it won’t do that blindly – UNLESS the body can be ‘persuaded’ to do so. The existing body Fat serves a purpose and has a function so you need to address that, not ignore it or just naively ‘think’ “Oh I will eat less and all my Fat will go!!!”
If you JUST attempt to burn the Fat with a restricted Fat ( and or calorie ) intake, you will highly likely face a situation where the body says to itself –
“Hold on a minute, you’re asking me to give up my stores of Fat that I have here – are you mad?! I’m not going to do that and end up with nothing – no way!”
Your body HAS to think ahead / for the future – it may need those stores of Fats in an emergency and if it is all used up it has violated rule number 1 of its very own existence – to SURVIVE.
Jeopardising rule number 1 is something – it will Never, Ever, Ever do.
Unless – you can trick the body ethically and holistically, into doing so, and there IS a way!
‘WHAT IF’ the body had a bunch of BAD Fats on the left hand, and a bunch of GOOD Fats on the right hand, and it was looking at both, Weighing up and e–valuating which TO GET RID OFF / LET GO OFF ( Valuing the situation because of the potential for gain or loss ).
CLEARLY it would be very happy to let the stores of un-nutritional bad Fats be SWAPPED for more Healthier Fats – your body as clever as it is, doesn’t always need all of its Intelligence to make simple decisions sometimes you know!
( It does not actually swap in the literal sense in that the Good / Essential Fats will then get stored in place of the old bad Fats / NO. The Good / Essential Fat will be used for other desirable and beneficial purposes, so when I say swap it, it is simply a loose statement to get the point across ).
Okay, so HOW do you persuade the body to give up something? Answer is you replace it. You simply offer an alternative!
Have you ever swapped anything with anyone? Is it fairly true to say you did it because you saw the VALUE in the exchange? That BY exchanging you would benefit? Okay, your body is thinking the same.
So by increasing your intake of the ESSENTIAL Fats – your body now has a choice. KEEP the old un-nutritional bad Fats OR SWAP them for the ESSENTIAL Fats it CRAVES.
What do you think it wants to do – and thus will do?
It will clearly make the exchange – THIS means the existing body Fat stored on your body – will be GIVEN UP more easily. In essence – SPEEDING UP – the burning of stored body Fat.
This increase in speed can be measured and this amount is somewhere around moderate. It is not low as in minimal, so do appreciate that this is a rather favourable amount.
So we have established that Fats are NOT to be avoided, and specifically – the ESSENTIAL Fats are very advantageous, however they are Sorely missing from the mainstream diet of both general populous and also the specialised populous of the Weight Loss environment.
( Quality, Clean, Unprocessed types are missing in sufficient quantities, the POOR quality versions from processed foods may be available but are inferior ).
